This was a crazy week, by crazy I just mean that we are getting a ton of respect here in this area! Elder Phillips and I work outside of the city our ward is in, about 45 minutes by train. So we really don't get to meet with any members or anything but that's ok. We had a meal appointment with a family and were asking us "what is wrong with the other missionaries!?" I was like "what is wrong with them?" They told me that they were all awkward and that they never talk to the members like we do every Sunday! They appreciate when we get there early and welcome everyone and hold the doors open. I thought that's what everyone was supposed to do!!!! Haha well I don't want my email to be too long this week but I want to talk about something important.
The reality of Satan. He is real, he does not have a body but everyday he is tempting us and trying to make our lives as miserable as possible. An experience I want to share was the week that just passed. We had a baptism coming up on Saturday and everything was perfect, but the Thursday before we met with him and his wife who lives somewhere else told him she was cheating on him and that the baby she was carrying about 4 months was not his. He was absolutely devastated! I am not someone to comfort, that's not my forte but I did my best and a week before he shared with us his testimony and how The Lord will never leave his side. This day he told me that the Lord abandoned him and now he has nothing. THAT IS NOT TRUE!!!!! Satan is always trying to break us down, the thing is that he can NEVER win. After a while talking with him we showed him a picture of Jesus standing at a door, and he knocked and is waiting for an answer. He will always be there for us, we just need to open up the door. We shared a scripture with him that brought his faith back and it was this. Moroni 48: 17
17 Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men.
I would hope that everyone can be as Moroni, have the strength to always win the battle against the adversary everyday! I want that you all have a great week and enjoy the blessings that The Lord has for you! Much love!!!
