Good Times In Barrio 3, Madrid Spain Mission with Elder Taylor Malolo

ELder Malolo sharing his videography experience in Madrid Spain

video

Welcome to Center Madrid..Elder Taylor Malolo gets Transfered Barrio 3 Madrid Madrid!!

Holaaaaaaaa (with a really deep spaniard voice)
This week was transfers and I will be leaving TORREJON!!! I have
been here for a long 6 months just like my last area, I had to say
good bye to a lot of my African friends and it was really sad to leave
them. There are no more Africans outside of this area so that'll be
weird to experience. I have been moved toooooooo BARRIO 3 which is
from what members have told me Madrid, Madrid! I have actually never
been to Madrid my whole mission so it'll be fun to finally see it
haha. My new companion is Elder Whiteman who is apparently
Polynesian!? What's up with me getting all the Poly companions?? I'm
pretty excited, I like going to new areas.
Something cool this week definitely has been going to a park to
jam out on my ukulele. I am basically a ukulele master now. By master,
I mean I know how to play the same 4 chords in different patterns. In
doing so I attracted small crowd in which I began to sing a church
hymn which led to about 4 people giving us their numbers! Soooo if you
play uke, go to a park and play it. #UltimateProsTool
This week we got to play soccer but we went against a Sala Futbol
Club team that wanted to play us. As interesting as it sounds we
didn't do good the first game, we actually lost 3-1 soooo we played
again but this time a member taught me how to play defense. Who knew
that you could hit people with your shoulder??!?! With that knowledge,
I decided to play forward the next game. As I was running down the
field a Romanian Chaval was trying to get it and he came and ran into
me. He didn't affect me at all so I decided to hit him back. Little
did I know I would send him out of bounds into a bush and cut his leg.
But hey, it was a clean hit!! So I went and scored. Now I am a
monster...rawr.
This week I went hard in studying the New Testament, and it
makes more sense in Spanish than it does English. If you ever want to
learn some crazy things, or strengthen the heck out of your testimony
for prophets, read the New Testament!
My favorite part of this week was a woman we found from
Nicaragua. We met with her for the second time and we left her the
first time to read Alma 32. When we met she immediately offered a
prayer. Just know that she has no religious background either. When
she was done she looked at me and said, "I never knew it until 2 days
ago when I read this chapter that I have Faith." And so I asked "what
are you going to do with that faith?" She replies "I'm going to be
baptized!!" I almost fell to my knees and gave thanks to the Almighty
right then and there. So we set her up for baptism and she will be
getting baptized in 2 weeks! Just enough time for me to get
transferred out of the area! And she will be the first baptism to ever
come out of Coslada!!! You can only imagine my Pride level was over
9000.
Something I realized this week was that I always expect miracles
to happen. Why? Because we believe in miracles! I was asked the other
day "how come you are always so happy?" I would say "cause the Lord is
going to bring me a miracle today!!". This world, everywhere you go,
likes to talk a lot of trash, and create a lot of rumors. We need to
stop believing in the rumors and all the trash that people give us and
actually have a little faith in what we do will be great! This applies
everywhere!! Especially the mission, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A BAD
AREA!! An area, a dream, your job, your life is what you make it. If
you want to get something, go out in get it! It's as easy as that!
I hope you all have a good week and that you help out the
missionaries wherever you are! Cause I know I would love it if members
helped me hahahaha

Elder Taylor Malolo taking a moment to enjoy the day

Hola, ¿habla inglés?" "No."

Como os vais chavales??
This week we worked the so hard! I can't tell you how grateful it
is to go to bed and sleep 8 hours a night, it's a blessing! This week
we were able to find a ton of new people, and to teach and also drop
some people as well. Such as a man who reads the New Testament but
doesn't read the Old Testament. Like really?? A man who believed that
God is a non violent God, he obviously didn't read the Old Testament
either! And a crazy woman who came up and caressed my chest half way
through an appointment...yeah let's not talk about that one. BUT we
were able to find some people who are prepared for baptism.
As we prepared for this week I woke up one day and was like "I want
to invite everyone we talk to to be baptized today" my companion goes
"you can't just do that, you have to teach them first" I go "I
remember when I used to say that too, back when I had NO FAITH!" So I
did just that and guess what, 3 people said yes! I honestly didn't
expect that but hey, toma tío.
We had the most tranquilo lesson the other day with a girl from
Nicaragua (shout out Jesse and Christian). She's 22 and so awesome!
She didn't know a thing about religion but she has read the first 3
pages of Genesis and a little in Apocalypse, which of course is a
great place to start (sarcasm). She told us something super
interesting. She said, translated, "it's weird that 2 weeks ago when I
met you I gave you my number, I've never done that before." We asked
why and she says "I don't know, it just felt right. And then the next
day I went to your church, which was the first time I went since I was
baptized a Catholic." We asked here why she came and she said "it just
felt right! And now I'm here in a park talking with two Americans
about God and how a 14 year old saw them and later translated a book
into English." After a short pause I ask "and how do you feel about
that?" And she stops for a second, looks at me and says "It sounds
crazy....but it feels right." At this moment in time Elder Malolos
mind legit just took off to the moon and I invited her to be baptized
and she said of course!
Now, after this appointment we had to travel 1 hour and a half to
another appointment by train and metro and by foot. While we were on
the train I like to just play my ukulele and play some songs, a man
came up to me and says in English "are you Hawaiian?" Ok...this is
where it gets fun, I like to pretend I don't speak English or Spanish
and have my companion just talk nonsense to me and I pretend to
understand and answer back and then he replies to the man in English.
Let's just say after about 10 minutes we got his number and his
address and passed it on to the Elders in his area!
Another funny story is a guy in our ward does Muay Thai, or kick
boxing basically. He does it a lot and goes to tournaments and he wins
a lot of them. He's a little smaller than me but super cool and really
funny. On Wednesday we were all playing soccer and he comes up to me
and fakes a leg kick. So I return with a capoeira kick at his face and
he freaks out and says, translated, "let me kick you and you can kick
me!" So I go alright! He teaches me how to take a leg kick and we get
ready, he throws his and it literally doesn't do a thing to my iron
thighs. He looks at me and goes "wait wait wait!! I didn't think your
legs were that strong!" I said "too late, my turn!" He gets ready and
I throw a leg kick at him and he falls straight down to the ground! He
laughs and gets up "you need to do Muay Thai!! That would've broke my
leg if you knew how to kick right!" So there you have it, Muay Thai
Elder Malolo!!
I had a really fun week, I hope you all did too and that you enjoy
this week coming up and PLEASE!!!!!HELP YOUR MISSIONARIES!!!!!!!!

Elder Bednar called me handsome and smart. Elder Taylor Malolo in Madrid Spain

Holaaaaa buenaaaassssss
So my email is just going to be focused on how Elder Bednar came
and had a conference with all the missionaries!! Literally my favorite
apostle (I love them all equally) came to my mission! Aaaand I can
check that off the list! Now, I wish I can tell you all what he said
BUT he told us not to write down anything he Says. Then h explained to
us how we all probably think that he's going to give a talk, but nope,
he wanted us to ask inspired questions. And everything that was asked
was absolutely amazing and absolutely intense and we got so much out
of it! Near the end of the time we had with him he asked us a
question. He said "Now, what can you tell me about the words that were
not said this evening?" People raised their hands and gave good
answers. I received revelation so I raised my hand and he called on
me. I stood up and said "when I listen to the words that are being
said, I listen to what we all need to hear. When I listen to the words
that aren't being said, I listen to what I need to hear." He has this
incredibly big smile on his face and says "you are a very handsome and
smart man...but not half as smart to think of that answer on your own!
That was the Spirit!"
That was definitely a very humbling moment for me, but...I have
apostolic word, I am handsome and smart! Toma maestra de ingles!!

Nothing else happened this week, but hey, went to a park today and
went through a tour of the human body.

I learned about the female reproduction system in Spanish...

Have a good day:)

"DAD!"

Gung-ho!!
This week was very normal...so no cool stories to share, sorry!!
But the new transfer started and I am still here in Coslada, and an
Hermana in my district is training so we met the new girl, we
obviously pulled a prank cause that's just what you gotta do!! So
after that, we all became good friends. Now whenever I have to call
the Hermanas the new girl answers and she yells "DAD!!!!" Because here
in the mission, the trainer is the mom and then the district leader is
the dad. It's really weird to hear but you know, I'm just the best dad
in the world:)
Not too much happening this week, we got some people to commit to
baptism and we will be looking forward to that!
Sorry for the super lame email....I really want to go play
soccer...hahaha have a good day!!
